Bear
Gentle soul
Bear arrived at his Final Refuge home in early September 2024. In the last several months he had been in the ER due to serious lung disease and tracheal issues. Now, due to the change in environment and lifestyle, some of Bear’s symptoms have decreased quite a bit. He no longer presents with a chronic cough. He is on daily medication for his lungs and for the inflammation he experiences from arthritis.
Since he has a Grade 4 of 6 heart murmur, an echocardiogram was conducted to make sure that Bear was OK to proceed with his much needed dental work. With his lungs and trachea much healthier now, he will have that procedure this winter.
He has been wonderful in the car and enjoys going on little adventures and meeting new people. He has been to several dog-friendly restaurants and stores and is always a perfect gentleman. He has enjoyed getting to know his extended foster family, including his 4-legged foster cousins.
Bear’s new family has already fallen completely in love with him.
Update: Bear’s foster family had to say goodbye to him after 18 months. He was a happy dog and they’ll miss him very much.
