Sweet Bella Luna wound up in a shelter and looked a real mess with severe skin and possible eye issues.  When her future Old Dog Haven person saw her picture she tells us, ” I totally fell in love.  I didn’t even read about her, just saw her picture and fell in love.”

A wonderful ODH volunteer transporter brought Bella Luna from the shelter to meet her Final Refuge mom.  Bella wasn’t sure what was going on, taken from the shelter, riding in one car and then moved to another car, but she settled right in for the ride home. Her ODH mom tells us that Bella had skin issues and most of her lower body fur was gone, as well as cataracts and severe ear infections: “And she WAS skinny. I say “was” because she isn’t anymore! No one in this household stays skinny!”

Bella has now gotten the veterinary attention she needed thanks to your support of Old Dog Haven. It turns out that she can see fuzzy shapes out a portion of her left eye and is blind in the right.  Even with these limitations, her mom says she does very well getting around. Her hair is even growing back! “I don’t think I could have received a better dog!  Someone has trained her and loved her.  I could talk about Bella forever – she really is a very sweet dog.”

Update:  After over 4 wonderful years, her Final Refuge family had to say goodbye to this very special girl.  She had the most wonderful time with her family – running on the beach, walking in the woods, and all the love she deserved.  Bella Luna will be greatly missed.
