Meet Benny! He is an 8-year-old shih tzu mix who came into the Tacoma shelter as a stray in pretty sad shape. This handsome pup has been spending some time in a foster home while he gets his weight back to a healthy number (should be around 18 pounds) and his medical issues under control. Benny is overall a pretty mellow guy but does enjoy his walks where he can explore new things. He currently lived with other dogs of varying sizes and does well. Benny needs a home that is dedicated to maintaining a healthy diet and exercise plan to continue to get him back to the weight that he needs to be to be at his best, and he takes a pill daily for a thyroid deficiency. He needs regular grooming as well. Adults only please, and while he prefers a fenced yard to explore, Benny may also be a good apartment dog with someone who is committed to routine exercise.

Benny is in the care of the Humane Society For Tacoma and Pierce County.

THIS IS NOT AN ODH DOG; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
