Betty Windsor came to us after her owner was moving and unable to take Betty with her. She then asked Old Dog Haven to become involved.

Betty is a 13 year old cocker spaniel that had skin allergies, ulcerations in her mouth, deaf with ears that were in terrible shape, and eye problems common in cockers.

Seen by several specialists, she underwent various procedures paid for by the money raised by Old Dog Haven and its donors. Betty became a very happy girl. With daily medication, eye and ear drops plus visits to monitor her continuing improvement, Betty can do her two most favorite things – counting her tennis balls first thing in the morning to make sure she has enough for her Foster Mom to throw, and to nap (which really is her FAVORITE thing to do).

Update:  After a wonderful time in her Final Refuge home, her declining health made it time to say good-bye to dear Betty.

From her family:  “Our sweet Betty was a bright light in our lives. ODH provided her medical care that allowed her to continue chasing balls and being ‘momma dog’ to our grandson who spent his first 2 years learning the lovely kindness of dogs from Betty. We were so very lucky to love her up in her precious final years.”
