“Hey there! I’m Bodhi. I am a young senior with so much to offer. I am about 8 years old and I weigh 100 pounds. As you can probably tell by looking at my photo, I am a German Shepherd dog. Google my breed and you will read that German Shepherds are described as:
Intelligent, obedient, loyal , stubborn (but who isn’t occasionally?), alert, protective, confident, curious, watchful, brave, and courageous. I am all of those things and HANDSOME!

“I am looking for a home without children, cats or other dogs. An adult home only home is what I am ready for. Once I settle into my new home, I should be OK to stay alone when my humans need to leave. One thing about my breed is that because we are so loyal, we can become quite attached to our people.   I would not consider myself “needy”but I hope to find someone who will be patient with me as I lose the home I’ve had since I was 8 weeks old. My people had little humans and that has caused me to be anxious. The smells and sounds of little ones as well as the big changes in our lifestyle just don’t suit me. I can certainly learn to love again and I believe there must be someone out there for me who will return my love and loyalty.

“During the day I hang out inside the house needing a potty break every few hours. I can do the stairs without issue at this time. I have a dog bed I sleep in at night and I won’t insist on sleeping in your room if you won’t allow it. I have a great sense of smell and can sniff out treats in cupboards. I’ve been known to open cupboards to retrieve those treats! This is why we are the breed used for so many important jobs.

“Getting out for daily walks is really important to me. Time to stretch my legs and smell all of the marvelous smells the world has to offer is stimulating and makes me very happy. Take note I do pull while on leash. Maybe you have the time and interest to get me into some training? It would benefit both of us and help our bond. I will bark at strangers that come to the house. I feel it’s my job to let you know someone has arrived but also my job to let them know, I am in the house and will protect my owner. I am NOT aggressive though! I have never bitten or even snapped at a person. I am all about “presentation”!

“If you need a foot warmer while you are on the couch, I’ll happily get cozy near your feet at the other end. I’m not super cuddly but I most certainly like to keep you company. My person will tell you I am a very, very good boy who is a gentle giant. A dog like me may just be what you’ve been missing in your life!”
