Bosco

“Oh hey there! My name is Bosco and I need to find a new home. My person has fallen on hard times, and she can no longer keep me. It tears her up because I am such a good boy and she will miss me, but she is doing what is best for me.

I am about 12 years old and I weigh 30 pounds. My breed mix is interesting, can you guess? I am supposed to be part Border Collie, part Jack Russell Terrier. Check out my spots and wiry hair! I could do with a groom; then you’d see how really cute I am.

If you have other dogs, cats, or kids, I am good with everyone. Of course, I want to be treated with kindness by all. I love having company around; I am an easygoing guy who enjoys snuggling and playtime.

When the humans leave, I can stay alone in my home, though it’d be nice to have some company in the house: a friendly dog or cat or both? I can manage a few hours between potty breaks. I will find a place where the sun is shining through the window when it’s out, and when it isn’t, I will find a spot to hang out until the humans return. I do bark when someone comes to the door, but that’s my job to let the humans know someone has arrived.

I did just see a vet, and I got my shots. My person has tried her best to keep up with my care. My hope is that my adopter will be able to afford my veterinary care. We dogs try not to complain when something is wrong. People often think that because we still eat, potty, and wag our tails, we are healthy, but that is not always the case. Keeping up with regular checkups can mean longer, healthier, and more enjoyable lives for us.

Walks are fun! I behave myself on leash so my human can enjoy the walk too. I love playing with toys; playing “chase” is my favorite. I can climb stairs without a problem. Car rides with my person make me happy. I have so much love and friendship to offer. I am ready to join a new family and hope to find them soon.”
