Buddy
Ready for his best life
“Where did everyone go?!” My name is Buddy and I am wondering what happened to my family. I had a Dad and a dog buddy that are no longer here in our home. Dad wasn’t feeling good, then he left and never returned. Then some of his family came to our house and said they found a home for my border collie friend I’d lived with for a couple of years. It is just me here now with people coming in and out to take me potty, feed and water me. They say I need to find a new home soon.
I am 11 years old. You may be able to tell from photo that I am a German Shepherd. I weigh about 75 pounds, give or take a few pounds. My dad had taken me to the vet earlier this month for some chewing on my back and paw. I’ve been getting treatment for that and I’m doing much better. I would appreciate a home where regular vet care is afforded. Dad did the best he could for me, I have my shots. My vet records will be shared with whoever puts their hand up for me.
When I was a puppy I lived inside. Once I grew up I lived outside in an outdoor large kennel area that was covered. At night I stay in the heated garage. Dad’s family will tell you I’d like to stay inside more and that is true! They have let me inside sometimes and once I get over being excited about it, I settle down. I am ready to live inside with my humans and just go outside to relieve myself or hang out when it’s nice weather with my people. Just let me know where I need to do my business. I hear my border collie friend is doing really good at being an inside dog now! She has found a new life, I’d really like my chance now.
I had some basic training when I was younger. I am very smart, we GSD are known for that. So I bet I could learn the ropes easy in my new home. If you’re looking for a loyal friend, there is no more loyal dog that a German Shepherd!
I am good with other dogs. When I first came to live with Dad he had a collie girl that was my friend. When she died, he got my border collie friend. Aside from the 2 friends I lived with, I have another dog in the neighborhood I like. I can’t tell you how I’d react if I saw a cat. Older kids could be fine. I like people and am a friendly boy. I am sure lonely right now so I hope someone will see me soon and say “Hey! I’d really like to give Buddy a forever home!”.
