“Hi, I am Chewy! I am an 11-year-old Cavapoo. A Cavapoo is what happens when you mix a Cavalier with a Poodle. Currently, I weigh about 19.5 pounds.

You may wonder why a handsome, good dog like me needs to find a new home. Well, my story is much like many senior dogs in need- my senior human passed away. Her family took me in, but they cannot keep me much longer.

Right now, I am staying in a home with another dog. I do just fine with this dog, mostly minding my own business. After the expected sniff when meeting a new dog, I walk away. I could live with another dog with a calm disposition like mine. I don’t really need a playmate; I am much more interested in humans. I have never lived with a cat, but when I have seen a cat, I ignore them. Kids are great when they are school age, old enough to know to be nice and gentle.

In my lifelong home, I was accustomed to having my humans home most of the time. When I move to my next and what I hope will be my forever home, I will need time to get used to a totally new place and schedule. Every dog should be shown patience with a life-changing move. As a dog who lived in a home where people were almost always around, I am probably better than some dogs are at staying home alone. But I would rather not be home alone all day, every day. I can wait quite a while between potty breaks when you need me to.

During the day, I like to be around my humans but not in an annoying way. If there’s a window to look out, I enjoy checking out what’s going on outside. At night, I sleep in my crate. I have a special chewy that will come with me when I move. It’s the only thing I don’t want anyone else to touch. I don’t want to lose my special chewy!

Daily walks are really enjoyable. I look forward to my walks, so I’d like a home where those will continue. I will pull some on leash at first, but I will settle down after a bit. I can take stairs without a problem. When it’s time to relax, I am a terrific lap dog.

As you can see, I am quite an interesting color. People say how handsome I am all of the time. I will need regular grooming, so please be sure that this is something you can afford. I will also need regular veterinary care and good-quality dog food. I am an affectionate, sweet boy who listens well. I have so much more love to offer my new humans. I need to find my new people soon, so please consider me if you are looking for a new buddy. Or if you know someone who needs a new buddy and I could be a good fit, tell them about me!”
