Have you ever heard of a Sinhala Hound? We had not! This is a Sri Lankan breed. Coco weighs 38 pounds. Coco was rescued as a puppy in Sri Lanka in 2014.  At 9 years old (not quite 10!), she is looking for a home for the rest of her life.

Coco lived with another dog all of her life before he passed away. She is cautious at first when meeting new dogs but we are told with time, if a dog is friendly and polite, she can warm up to them. Coco has never lived with cats. While she has liked babies, she has not enjoyed the toddler stage! Coco would be happiest with older kids who won’t make her anxious.

Recent family changes have made Coco anxious. She is looking for a more calm lifestyle, one that is more predictable. While she used to be fine being left alone, she has needed trazadone from time to time to help her feel more comfortable staying alone. Perhaps another mellow canine could help her settle into her new home and be OK with time alone?

Coco enjoys daily walks. She will pull a bit on leash but once she gets over her excitement, she does well. Coco can manage stairs and gets out every 4 hours or so during the day for potty breaks. Setting up a routine for Coco will be helpful and truly is very important with any adoption.

This pretty girl is ready for a home with someone who has more time for her. She is down to play fetch or hang out with her human, receiving lots of belly rubs!

Coco is located in Everett, WA. For contact information please email: referrals@olddoghaven.org

This is a courtesy post. Coco is not an Old Dog Haven dog. We urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
