“Why hello there! My name is Domino. I am an 11 year old pitbull who weighs 69 pounds. I am in need of an adoptive home as my human is leaving the country to a place where my breed is banned! Can you believe that?! Banned. I guess the people that made that law don’t know how loving, loyal and affectionate we can be!

“Thankfully my sister-not really blood related but we grew up together-and I live in Shoreline, Washington where people know how awesome we pitbulls can be! Yes, I have lived with my friend Lilly almost all of my life but now we are getting to the point where our person has to leave the country. He tried to find a home to keep us together but so far, no luck! So here I am, looking for a home with someone who may be only able to adopt one dog?

“If you have other dogs already, I’m fine with them. Just do introductions properly please, I’m a gentle dude who does not want to get bullied! I don’t want to live with cats but if you have kids-older ones are great, as long as they are gentle to me.

“One thing about me is, I am deaf. I think I may have always been? I’m all white as you can see and I hear -well I don’t REALLY hear- I guess I should say, I understand that can be “a thing” for all white dogs? Anyway, it doesn’t bother me a bit, I just use my eyes and my nose more. Being deaf means I shouldn’t be allowed off leash and I really don’t have “selective hearing”, so please be patient with me. As a deaf dog I can be startled easier when woken up so I’d appreciate not being woken up abruptly- does anyone really like that?!

“I hang out in the house just fine when my person has to leave. Of course, I’ve always had Lilly for company so if she can’t come along, maybe you have another friendly dog who would like to be my pal? I’m a great cuddler, with dogs and humans. While I can manage a long time before I need a potty break, I’d rather not have to wait so long it’s uncomfortable-who wants to do that?

“Going for walks is fun. I’d say I have “fair” leash manners. I’m kind of a big guy so be sure you are strong enough to manage me. Maybe you can get one of those harnesses that help me remember not to pull? If you have stairs I can climb them at this point in my life. They may get harder as I age so please keep this in mind.

“Since I can’t hear when someone comes to the house, I won’t bark unless I see or feel that another dog is barking. I guess some people think a dog who doesn’t bark at everything they can’t hear is a good thing? I will bark though if I smell something! I’m kind of like a superhero that way, one that has super powers through his nose? I’ll keep you safe from anything I smell!

“My person will tell you how I’ll never leave your side once you pay attention to me. He’s going to miss me and Lilly. It’d be amazing if we could find someone who will take us together but if that doesn’t happen, being adopted out separately to good homes would be far better than us going to a shelter. My person says the shelters are full and many of the local shelters have tons of us pitbulls waiting and waiting and waiting… I don’t want to be one of those dogs.”
