Meet Doug, an 11-year-old Husky mix with a gentle spirit, a sharp mind, and plenty of love left to give! Doug weighs 48 pounds.

Doug is currently enjoying a break from the shelter and has proven to be a wonderful houseguest. He is house-trained and slept all night quietly on a dog bed without making a peep. Shelter staff says he is unusually quiet for a Husky, and his shelter foster says that has certainly been true during his stay.

This friendly senior enjoys meeting new people, spending time outside, going for walks, and taking car rides. He is good with other dogs but overly interested in cats, so a cat-free home would likely be the best fit.

Doug could use some practice with his leash manners, but he is very smart and treat-motivated, which should make training fun and rewarding. He already knows verbal commands: sit, lie down, and shake. We bet he probably has a few more tricks up his furry sleeve!

Doug tolerated a bath like a gentleman. He was not a fan, but he handled it well. He arrived at the shelter with some skin issues, and his coat is now growing back nicely.
