Ebony was a “stray” and after a 14 day hold at the shelter for owners to claim, no one came for her. She was spayed and mammary tumors were removed.  She is estimated to be about 14 years old, and she was referred to  Old Dog Haven was asked to find her a permanent (Final Refusge) foster home.

You can see the hair loss Ebony has. This poor girl had such a bad flea infestation that she had rubbed her poor body raw from the scratching and chewing.  An established Old Dog Haven Final Refuge home stepped up and immediately got her into a vet clinic for an intake exam.  It was
determined that she has a Grade 3 heart murmur and what looks like another mammary tumor. Her forever foster family had to keep her separated from their resident dogs at first due to her arriving with kennel cough.

Thankfully her new family reports that she began feeling a whole lot better very soon. Thanks to their TLC, her skin
has calmed down and she already has some new fuzz growing. Ebony is such a lucky girl to have such a fantastic home.

You can already see the changes.  She enjoyed a trip to the beach and is very much loved already.  Now she can live her very best life!

This is what we do, Friends. Old Dog Haven is here for dogs like Ebony who don’t have much (if any) chance at
adoption in a shelter.

Update :
Ebony has settled in very well with her new pack. She loves  weekly walks at the beach and likes to sniff everything she can. You would never think she was a mature lady, as her playful side is starting to show. Our Ebony has so much love to give everyone we meet.
