Penelope was found as a stray and fostered by a local shelter for a few months before she came into the care of Old Dog Haven. She is estimated to be about 13 years old. At her ODH intake exam, it was found that she had a mouth full of rotting teeth, infected ears, mammary lumps, high blood pressure and a collapsed disc in her spine. The good news is that her blood and urine analysis were good, so her underlying health looks pretty good!
Thanks to the generous supporters of ODH, her rotting teeth and mammary lumps have been removed and her other ailments are all being treated with medication. She is now doing great in her ODH final refuge home!
She shares the house with two cats and the backyard with four chickens. She has learned to use the doggie door to let herself in and out of the fenced backyard, and she gets along fine with cats and chickens!
Penelope has become a great walking buddy for her foster mom, and she wants to make friends with every person they meet along the way. Penelope is a real sweetheart and her foster mom feels so grateful to have her in her life!
