Edgar

We met Edgar when he was down in the dumps last year. At age 14, Edgar lost his long-time person. A combination of a broken heart and severe dental disease took the sparkles from his eyes. This sad little dog was underweight under his very fluffy coat but did not want to eat, nor was he interested in much of anything. He was very anxious much of the time, not surprising given all the big changes that happened in his life.

After a thorough intake exam immediately after Edgar came into Old Dog Haven’s care, Edgar’s makeover began. He received a much-needed dental where all his remaining diseased teeth were extracted and cavities cleaned out. It was a long and substantial procedure, and his veterinarian told us he would likely be very “out of it” for the following days. Imagine our surprise the next morning we woke up to a VERY PLAYFUL & COMFORTABLE Edgar! He chowed down his breakfast and pranced around the house. We took him into the yard and he started running like a mustang!

Today, Edgar is living up to his Mariners Hall of Famer namesake. He wears a perpetual smile on his face, he enjoys doing zoomies in the yard and going for long walks, sprinting whenever the person on the other end of the leash can keep up. He enjoys the beach and being close to the water. In his rare downtime, he loves to plant himself in the laps of his humans and disregard their personal space. Life is now joyful for Edgar and he sincerely thanks all the Old Dog Haven supporters who made it possible.

Edgar is a cherished boy who is so happy now. He has a home he will never lose, thanks to his forever fosters.
