Meet Fergus, an 8-year-old, 60-pound bulldog gentleman who is searching for a calm, understanding home. Fergus is shy and reserved around new people, and he does best in a quiet, single-family home with minimal visitors. Apartment or condo living isn’t a good fit for him, as unexpected encounters with strangers can be overwhelming and stressful for him.

Once Fergus feels safe and secure, his true personality shines. He is a total sweetheart who loves being close to his people and quietly keeping them company. Fergus isn’t looking for an active lifestyle-he’d much rather relax at your feet or nap in a cozy spot than head out for long walks. Fergus is dog-friendly with slow, thoughtful introductions. In his foster home, he lives successfully with several other dogs and enjoys lounging on the couch and hanging out in the yard with them. A home with existing dogs can be a great fit for Fergus, as long as the resident dogs are calm and non-reactive and the adopter is committed to taking introductions at his pace. Fergus would thrive in a home with one or two adults, few visitors, and plenty of patience and love. In return, he will offer steady affection, quiet loyalty, and the kind of gentle companionship that makes every day feel a little calmer.
