“Hi! My name is Froyo. People say I’m a very interesting looking fellow; I have the most amazing green-hazel eyes. My breed mix is dachshund, chihuahua and border collie. I weigh 34 pounds and am just 9 years old, well 9 1/2 years old to be exact. I am a senior dog but I am a YOUNG senior dog. This means with care, I hope to be around for many more years. My owner is very ill and because of that, my family situation has changed drastically. It is very, very sad. Up until recently I had a dog “brother” who I lived most of my life with. He was adopted and now it’s my turn to find an adoptive home.

“While I’ve never lived with cats, I loved my dog “brother”. I do just fine with nice dogs at the dog park and when I’ve been boarded. Currently I live with a toddler who doesn’t know “gentle”. I do my best to get out of his line of sight! I would love a home without young kids so I can just relax. I prefer a calm home with people who get me out for walks. I really enjoy walks and do well on leash.

“I have always had companionship when the humans left the house. It may be hard for me to go to a home without another friendly dog to spend my time with. I am not a barky dog. My family describes me as “independent and quiet” but I will play if someone wants to play! I have become more withdrawn since my home life has changed so much. I am not a demanding dog but I long for a home with a little more attention and less commotion.

“I can manage quite awhile before I need a potty break. I can do stairs too. I believe I have a lot to offer someone who is looking for a buddy. In return I hope my adopter will take good care of me and afford my care for the rest of my days.  I am hoping that soon I will find a wonderful forever home!”
