11 year old Harley is a 65 pound rough collie in need of an adoptive home with someone who can get him back to the beautiful, healthy dog he once was. As you can see from his photo, his skin and hair are not what they should be. His owner has taken him to a vet and the vet has told him that Harley is stressed. Harley’s family is changing and that can cause dogs to chew at themselves which can result in hair loss.

Harley currently lives with a young dog who is an alpha and that is believed to be one of the issues stressing Harley. The hope is Harley will find a home where he can receive not only medical care but one on one attention. He may be OK in a home with another older dog who is mellow and won’t pick on him. Harley has lived with both cats and kids. It would be best for Harley if any children in the home were older kids who will not pull upon him or startle him in his sleep. Harley is deaf and it sounds like he may have some arthritis as well.

We are told Harley is excellent on leash. He doesn’t demand walks but it’d be great if he could get at least short walks to stretch his legs on a regular basis. Walks are so good for dogs! Harley would be happy in a home with a fenced yard. He can do stairs at the time but as he ages that could become tougher. Currently Harley can manage quite a few hours without a potty break. He’s not a barky dog but will alert you to when people come to your home.

Harley is described as “a very good dog that wants to be loved”. He is in Snohomish, WA. ready to go to his forever home.

This is not an ODH dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
