Harvee

Harvee is an 8 year old Chihuahua Mix who weighs 16 pounds. He is a true lover boy to every single person that he meets…yes, every single person. He is a friend to all dogs and he doesn’t mind cats.

Harvee has been diagnosed with hypoparathyroidism and will need to be on medication, most likely, for the rest of his life. He is also currently on a special prescription diet to support his kidneys. Hypoparathyroidism is a disease of the parathyroid glands that results in overproduction of parathyroid hormone. Because this hormone controls calcium and phosphorous levels, an excess of it can result in elevated blood calcium levels. Harvee’s forever family will want to monitor his condition which means more frequent vet visits.
