Jasper

Jasper is a 15-year-old “super mutt” who found his way to Old Dog Haven when his original family could no longer care for him due to health issues. Now, Jasper is thriving in his new home and has even reached celebrity status as the cover dog for Old Dog Haven’s 2026 calendar! With his soulful eyes and those BIG, beautiful ears, it is hard not to fall in love with this handsome old man (And yes, those enormous, wonderful ears are real).

There’s truly no one quite like Jasper. He’s the perfect mix of gentle, easygoing, and affectionate. He currently takes daily medication to manage thyroid and arthritis issues, but that doesn’t seem to slow him down. His foster mom tells us that Jasper is always the first to greet her at the door, excitedly carrying one of his many favorite toys in his mouth and then loves to follow his family everywhere they go, looking for pets and belly rubs.

In his retirement, Jasper is enjoying doing what senior dogs do best, napping! He has a bed in nearly every room of the house and never misses an opportunity to curl up for a siesta on the deck, in the yard, on the couch, or snuggled up with his brothers.

In the rest of his waking hours, Jasper has a very busy schedule, which includes patrolling the backyard with the pack, rolling in soft grass on sunny days, and going for car rides and an occasional pupachino!

Thanks to Old Dog Haven, Jasper will always have the safety and comfort of a permanent home and all the naps an old dog deserves.
