Adopt Jax! Jax is a black lab mix and is about 8 years old. Jax is a really fun, goofy dog. Jax loves to play fetch and chew on squeaky toys. Jax also loves to chew, so he will need lots of appropriate chew toys. Jax is a really special dog, as he has old injuries to both of his hind knees. His knees do not need surgery at this time, and surgery can be difficult for older or larger dogs, but his new owner will need to continue him on medication to keep him comfortable and work with their vet to discuss possible corrective surgery in the future. While Jax does love to run and play, his activity level needs to be monitored so he doesn’t injure himself further or develop any pain or discomfort. Jax does not do well walking up and down stairs, so he needs a single-story home, or limited access to one floor/limited stairs. Jax has lived with other dogs, and may enjoy having a dog friend in his new home. He is working on house training, so Jax needs a patient adopter who will continue to work with him. Jax needs a home with older kids only, who will understand his physical limitations.

If you are looking for a lovable, funny dog, Jax may be the one for you! Jax is available for adoption at Kitsap Humane Society in Silverdale, WA.

This is not an ODH dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
