Khaleesi

“Hi there! My name is Khaleesi. I am a pretty chihuahua girl who is about 9 years old. I am tiny. My person says I weigh only 3 pounds. I don’t know if that is my exact weight but I am little!

“Because I’m such a little dog, I don’t appreciate big dogs or dogs that get up in my business. My person thinks I should be an only dog so that I can get the attention. I am accustomed to lots of lap time and being held as often as possible. Another dog might take that away from me! I have lived with cats and I find them very interesting. That could get a dog into trouble if a cat decides to take a swipe though. A home with tolerant, dog friendly cats are best for me.

“I have been good around older kids. I don’t want to worry about little kids who may step on me or try to pick me up and accidentally drop me. I am not a toy!

“When you can’t hold me or sit with me, I appreciate the safety of my crate. I sleep in my crate at night, and when the humans need to leave the home, I will get comfortable in my crate and hang out. I’d rather not hold my potty for long hours, though I have been good about doing that for a few hours when I must. I bark when the doorbell rings. I AM a dog, and I AM a chihuahua!

“Time outside in the fenced yard is fun, but you should stay outside and supervise me. Because I’m so little, I could be easily snatched by a wild animal. I am fine on leash though I have not gone for regular walks. Maybe a daily walk with a harness on would be nice? This would protect my neck. I can manage stairs fine, though they should not be too steep for my little legs. I am so small that you can carry me up and down the stairs if needed.

“My person is heartbroken to have to give me up, but it’s sadly necessary. I need to find a home VERY SOON. I am a playful, curious girl. I make my person laugh when I get the zoomies and run around. I am a young senior girl so I could be around for many years to come if I’m given the care I need to remain healthy. Will you help me find the home I need?”
