Louie (poodle)
Ready for wonderful adventures and enjoying cuddles
Please note: The dogs in ODH's Final Refuge care are not adoptable due to medical reasons and all are in permanent homes. Your sponsorship supports the veterinary expenses for these dogs - and we thank you!
Louie’s owner contacted Old Dog Haven and told us she could no longer care for him. We were so lucky when a loving and compassionate foster home stepped forward to foster him. Louie arrived in fairly bad shape and had matted fur all over which made him very uncomfortable. His new family went to work to trim up all the things stuck in his fur and remove a very tight flea collar and Louie was so grateful that he started to wag his tail. Louie’s mom tells us why he is such a fantastic dog.
“He’s a sweet boy, and has been socially isolated for a long time so he’s learning every day about the joys of being a social dog again, going for long walks, meeting new people along the way and getting a little treat from them so you learn you can trust them, and yesterday he decided to actually play with a neighbor dog rather than ignore him, as he usually does.
“Louie is my shadow in the house, but he is starting to be very fond of my husband too and is wildly excited when he comes home from being out for a while. We couldn’t be more excited for Louie’s next chapter with us, and all of the adventures we look forward to enjoying with him. We couldn’t love this sweet boy more.”
We are SO happy for Louie! We are grateful to his Final Refuge fosters for giving him the home he needed.
