Mariposa

Let us introduce you to Mariposa!

This darling girl ended up at a shelter before arriving in her Old Dog Haven foster home. Mariposa needed to be seen by a vet to manage her ongoing health needs which included a moderate heart murmur, one luxating patella and cataracts in both eyes.

Her new foster mom instantly fell in love with this polite little lady and Mariposa has adjusted well to her new life. She was seen by a veterinarian who did a comprehensive exam and referred her to a cardiologist to receive an echocardiogram. She was diagnosed with an enlarged heart and is currently on medication to help manage her condition. Her foster mom will work on getting her weight down as well. Because of her heart condition, she is not a good candidate to undergo anesthesia for a much needed dental cleaning. Lucky for her, Mariposa’s foster mom is very patient and committed to her health and brushes her teeth every day to try to keep them clean.

Mariposa has settled in and is very happy to be part of her own family. She is enjoying the companionship of a dog as well as lots of cuddling with both her forever foster mom and dad. Mariposa is living her best life now in a home with heated beds and warm blankets to snuggle in. She enjoys getting out for walks and going for car rides. Mariposa’s foster mom says she is so loving and the perfect little dog!
