Wee Marybell has a new home! This little Chihuahua mix needed a quiet, calm place to land and call her own. Thanks to your support of seniors like her, she found the perfect retreat with a new ODH Final Refuge family who were so happy to welcome her home!

Now when Marybell needs some peace and quiet she can find it, and she doesn’t have to share her new forever family with any other dogs. (Whew!) Her people tell us that Marybell LOVES treats and going on walks–she enjoys a two-mile jaunt each day. Her mom shares that, “When she’s on leash, she is not a big fan of most things that move and she tells them all about it with her strong voice. But with a pouch full of training treats, walks are getting better each time!”

Riding in the car has proven to be tricky, but Marybell now has a new car seat and her mom sits next to her to help her feel more comfortable. Slowly but surely she is settling in and becoming more comfortable in her new home, and as she does, she’s also becoming more trusting and cuddly. During the day, Marybell enjoys finding and resting in all the soft places in the house and she’s even begun playing an adorable bouncy fetch game when she feels extra wiggly!

Despite her stressful past, Marybell’s finally experiencing safety, good care, and unconditional love in her golden years–and it looks like she plans on living it up!

Update:  Marybell was with her Final Refuge family for over 2 1/2 wonderful years and she will be greatly missed.  Thanks to our donors she was able to get the very best vet care and had a very loved last chapter.
