Marylyn
Loving, goofy girl!
“Hi! My name is Marylyn. I am a 10 year old yellow lab who weighs 50 pounds.Sadly, my family is disbanding, so I need to find a new home soon. I have lived with the same people since I was about a year old. They rescued me from a bad situation and spared me from going to the shelter. While they are sad to part with me, I know they want to find me the best home to spend my golden years in.
“Being the senior girl I am, I do not want to live with puppies or hyper dogs. I do not appreciate being jumped on. Continuing to be an only dog would make me the happiest. However, I think I could accept a home with another senior dog who minds its own business, and we could coexist in peace. The only time I have growled (and I did so quietly!) was when a dog tried to get to my food bowl. I have lived with a cat and do not chase cats when I see them. Just be sure your kitty is used to dogs and accepting of them before considering adding a dog to your home! I am great with gentle kids, so I could fit into a family with children well.
“During the day, I can stay inside the house when you need to go about your business. I behave myself, napping and just hanging out, waiting for them to return. I can manage a bit between potty breaks. Like all dogs, I would rather not have to hold it for long hours. My people tell me I am a smart girl, as I learn routines quickly. Because I have had the same home for so long, I hope to be shown patience and compassion as I settle into my new home.
“My people say I am goofy. They laugh and smile when I play and get the zoomies. I am not a barky dog at all, which seems to be appreciated. I do not get out for many walks, but it may be nice to make walks a regular part of my daily routine. I do get a little nervous about going into new areas, but without much experience in exploring, what do you expect? I can excited when I am on leash, so do be prepared for that.
“It’s been a little while since I last saw a vet; my adopter should be willing and able to provide lifelong care for me. I can manage stairs OK, but I am a little achy and stiff when I wake up. It would be nice to get some relief for that. I hear there are many options for a senior to move better.
“I am a good listener. I want to please my people and spend time with them. I am hoping to join my new family very soon.”
