Mildred showed up as a “stray” at a big shelter, as so many do.  She was very very thin, her coat was terrible with lots missing from flea allergy dermatis.  She had hyperextended ankles, arthritic knees, and a mammary mass.   And she seems to be deaf.   Under all that, a really beautiful dog with a lovely temperament.    After a bout with kennel cough she has moved into her ODH home and started settling in.    We’ll work on treating all her old-dog issues and keep her as comfortable as possible.   Meanwhile, she loves snuggling up and has become a happy member of the family – just what we want.

Update:  Mildred enjoyed her new l life and soaked up all the love and attention with her family.  Finally, her age and physical issues became too much, and her family said good-bye – to a very wonderful, loving dog.
