Orla

Orla came to her permanent foster home after being abandoned in the shelter parking lot. She arrived at her new home with many medical challenges. She was underweight, doesn’t hear well, is partially blind, and was living with stage 2 kidney disease. Her stiff knees and arthritis made it difficult to get around without pain.

Orla was able to see a vet and is now being treated for her ailments. She is on daily supplements and medications to ease her arthritis pain and is on a kidney diet to maintain and stabilize her kidney function.

Her foster mom tells us that she is a quiet dog that loves to pace the perimeter of the yard and she thinks she might have been a farm dog in another life. Orla now spends her days cuddling on the couch with her brother, going for daily walks and doing her version of slow zoomies around the house. She loves to go on daily walks where she sniffs everything and doesn’t mind the foster kittens who want to play with her. She can’t get enough ear scratches and snacks from her dad but best of all she is now safe and surrounded by people who love her. Orla has finally found her forever home.

Update: Orla’s foster family had to say goodbye after giving her 9 months of premium medical care and unconditional love. She will be sorely missed.
