Pimento

Meet Miss Pimento (Pima for short). She is a spicy, little Chiweenie who found herself at a shelter when her owner had to enter a care facility. This lucky girl was placed in an Old Dog Haven home due to a suspected case of Cushing’s disease and a mouthful of badly neglected teeth. Her veterinary intake exam was a mix of good and bad news. Fortunately, neither her test results, nor her behavior at home supported a Cushing’s diagnosis but the vet exam did discover a tumor in an anal gland. The vet team worked with Pimento’s foster home to provide a weight loss plan, which is crucial for a long-bodied dog.

Thanks to the generosity of our Old Dog Haven supporters, Pimento will have procedures to fix her dental issues, spay surgery, and remove the tumor. Pimento is starting to trust her new family and says “Thank you for supporting Old Dog Haven and please send snacks”.
