10-year-old Roman is such an interesting-looking boy, isn’t he? Roman is a handsome 60-pound, mixed breed of some kind. Perhaps his adopter will be curious enough to do a DNA test on him and share it with us?

Roman lives with a cat and another dog. The dog Roman lives with now is a male chihuahua who is the “alpha” of the home. Roman is said to be friendly when he meets new dogs. Roman is accustomed to having the companion of a dog pal. His person tells us it would be best if Roman could find a home with another welcoming, friendly dog to spend time with. Roman has shown himself to be good around kids of all ages. Roman has some arthritis, and his hearing is not as sharp as it once was. For those reasons, Roman needs a home with older children who are kind and gentle.

Roman will be happiest in a home with people around more than they are in his current home. He can manage quite a few hours between potty breaks, and he is OK to stay inside when his people leave the house. Roman enjoys time outside in his securely fenced yard. We are told he only barks when someone knocks at the door.

If you are ready for a walk, Roman is too! He thoroughly enjoys his walks, and because he is good on leash, Roman makes the walks enjoyable for you, too. Roman loves playing fetch and dipping his feet in the water on a hot day. This good boy is showing signs of having arthritis. He is currently not taking anything to help with that. It would be nice for him to get some help for that and a full senior check-up. Providing Roman with regular veterinary care and a healthy diet is important, as it is for every dog.

Roman follows directions well, in spite of not hearing well. He wants to please his people and make them happy. If Roman sounds like a dog you would like to share the rest of his days with, Roman is ready to join you!
