Rook

Meet Rook! Rook is a truly resilient and loving boy who is looking for a very special place to call home. Rook was originally adopted in 2018 and lived as a cherished family member for many years. However, due to a recent divorce and through no fault of his own, he has unexpectedly found himself back at the shelter. Despite the big changes in his life, his gentle soul hasn’t changed one single bit.

Rook is really an incredible dog. He is affectionate, he is loyal, and he is endlessly forgiving. At 40 pounds, this 8 year-old Shepherd / maybe Cattle Dog mix is just the right size for snuggles and care. Well-behaved, Rook walks well on a leash, does well in his kennel, and shows good manners toward other dogs. In all respects, he’s a total delight!

A few years ago, Rook survived being hit by a car. While he made a wonderful recovery, the accident left him with nerve damage that prevents him from controlling his bowels. Because of this, he leaks small amounts of stool and needs to wear a diaper while indoors.

Care for Rook is simple once you get into a routine, but it will take a dedicated, compassionate human who is comfortable managing his daily diaper changes. In return, Rook offers the deepest kind of loyalty and companionship you could ever ask for.
