With a heavy heart her ODH mom announces that little RosieBelle followed close on her foster brother’s heels across the Rainbow Bridge. Surrendered at the age of 15 with serious medical conditions, incontinence and a compulsive licking habit, Rosie seized the very day she came into care with Old Dog Haven. She attended numerous ODH events in the past few years, charming supporters with her spunky disposition and occasionally a sparkly tutu. She was a game little terrier who cheerfully greeted everything that came her way (with the exception of nail trimming) and never met a dog, cat, adult or child that she didn’t like, even helping foster a tiny Chihuahua mix puppy for the local shelter. Although blind and declining in the last months in her Final Refuge home, she maintained her control of the household to the end, taking first choice of the big dog beds, mauling her own special toys and warning away the cats coming too close to her meals. When her little body failed to the point that she was too tired to eat even her favorite treats, it was time to let her go. We have truly cherished the two and a half years we shared with RosieBelle, and will always remember her lesson that age is only a number. Tail high, Little Bitty.
