Rowlf

Frank is an almost 8-year-old, 55-pound black lab/pitbull mix who boy who loves everything and everyone! His shelter friends suggest he find a home with someone who has experience with pit bulls and all of the love and loyalty they have to offer.

Frank is a smart and sweet-natured dog with a happy disposition. People are his passion! He is mellow, has a gentle mouth for treats, is goofy, and enjoys cuddles. He tends to be a tidy boy who is a fast learner. He will sing and call to you when he sees a person. He is a great walker, enjoys car rides, and yard play, especially fetch! The shelter trainer noted that Frank had loose body language and a wagging tail when he greets new people.

Frank is a great companion dog, and having a family member home at all times would be his best fit. This sensitive boy struggles with separation anxiety. He needs a kind, understanding adopter who will work through this to learn that being alone is OK! It is so much healthier for a dog not to be with someone 24/7. To set Frank up for success in his adoption, one needs to be sure his howling, singing, and barking will not bother neighbors.

Frank is very smart and wants to please. Children in the home should be 13 years old and older, kind, and dog-savvy. He is dog-selective; however, he needs proper introduction, and the best are submissive female playmates that are his size. Although cats are unknown, he could be a candidate for dog-savvy house cats. A secured, fenced yard is required to keep him safe and happy.
