Sadie
Gentle, quiet girl -- very special
Sadie came to Old Dog Haven at the age of 14 after losing her life-long family. In her first week at her new home, Sadie was drinking excessive amounts of water and having frequent accidents. A visit to the vet, along with diagnostic bloodwork, revealed that she might have Cushing’s disease. She is now scheduled for an ultrasound and further testing to explore treatment options. She also started on a prescription hypoallergenic diet to address suspected inflammatory bowel disease.
Sadie’s foster mom tells us what she adores about Sadie.
“When Sadie arrived, we instantly fell in love with this gentle, quiet girl and she is now one of three Old Dog Haven cockers happily residing at our home. Like a true cocker, she is very affectionate, loves to give kisses and enjoys meeting new people. She enjoys long walks around the property with her new packmates, taking her time to explore, and walking through every mud puddle she can find! After her daily outdoor adventures, she comes back inside and curls up on one of her favorite dog beds for a long nap. It always makes us laugh to hear her snore from all the way across the house! Occasionally, we get a glimpse of her playful side, and it brings us so much joy to know that she’s comfortable and feels content in her new life.
“Sadie is a very special girl and we are truly honored to be her foster family. We are grateful to everyone who supports Old Dog Haven and gives senior dogs the care they need for the rest of their lives.”
Your support has made it possible to create countless happy endings for the senior dogs like Sadie.
Update: After much too short a time, we had to say goodbye to dear Sadie. She had 9 wonderful months of loving and care and truly enjoyed her last chapter. Such a lovely girl!
