Meet Sadie, a 13 year old pitbull mix.  This sweet old thing needs a soft spot to land in her golden years!  She has several medical issues: arthritis, mast cell tumors (successfully removed but may return), and mild liver enzyme elevations.

“I’m Sadie and I am addicted to hoomans.  There, I said it, and I’m not ashamed!  Yes, I know I’m here at the shelter as a “stray” dog but it’s pretty clear to everyone who’s met me that I have had some great hoomans in my past who loved me and raised me right.  No one is sure how I ended up here but I’m not one to hold a grudge – I’m a glass-half-full kind of a pup!  I know this is just the beginning of a new adventure for me.  Yes, I have a few years under my fur, but think of me as experienced rather than old.  I don’t let a few aches and pains slow me down, although I must admit that a soft bed has it’s appeal at the end of the day.  I’m pretty open-minded when it comes to new friends – people, other dogs, not sure about those things they call “cats,” though.  I prefer children who are calm and respectful of my old bones.  They say these are the golden years, and I’m just looking for that special home to spend them in.  Stop by the shelter today to spend a little time with me, you won’t regret it!”

Sadie is posted for the Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County.

THIS IS NOT AN ODH DOG; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
