Selima is a tiny Papillon who was left at a shelter, confused, sad, and terrified of women. She was not spayed, had a tumor, and just a few rotting teeth left. Good veterinary care resolved her health issues, and she now struts around proudly, leaping anything in site, and going for long walks – OK, runs. However, her fear was harder to fix. She instantly loved her new canine siblings, and accepted her foster dad, but all women terrified her. When scared, she has a scream that would make Janet Leigh proud.
Through patience, love, and gentle encouragement, she slowly became devoted to her foster mom. While she is still a little shy, you will often find her at ODH events these days, wiggling and wagging, eating up the attention. Her gorgeous, liquid brown eyes never leave her beloved foster mom, who named her. Selima, in Arabic, means safe. And she is.
