Selima is a tiny Papillon who was left at a shelter, confused, sad, and just terrified of women. She only had a few rotting teeth left in her mouth and a tumor that needed attention. She also wasn’t spayed. Once in her Old Dog Haven Final Refuge home, Selima quickly received the veterinary care she needed. Now this little one struts around proudly, leaping anything in sight, and going for long walks. (Well, OK, runs.) Her fear was a little harder to fix. She instantly loved her new canine siblings and accepted her foster dad, but women just terrified her. When scared, her family tells us that she has a scream that would make Janet Leigh proud.

Through patience, love, and gentle encouragement little Selima is slowly became devoted to her ODH mom. While she is still a little shy, you will now find her at ODH events, wiggling and wagging and eating up the attention. Her gorgeous, liquid brown eyes never leave her beloved ODH mom who named her. “Selima” in  Arabic, means safe. And she is!

Update:  Little Selima blessed her Final Refuge mom’s home for almost 5 wonderful years.  She was a brave little girl and will always be in her mom’s heart.  This girl was a great ODH ambassador and so very many folks knew and loved her.
