Sheba
Friendly and loving
Lovely Sheba is a 9 year old German Shepherd. We are told she is a little overweight currently, weighing 70 pounds. Sheba has been a companion dog to an elderly man who at 89 years old now, is in ill health and he can no longer care for this special girl.
Sheba has been with the same owner since she was a puppy. Since then she has never lived with another dog or cat. We are told she is not good around other dogs. Sheba is said to be good with kids of all ages. Of course it is very important that the adults in Sheba’s new family be sure she was always treated with kindness and care.
Sheba is good on leash and enjoys walks though her owner says she’s not been getting enough exercise lately. It is so important for senior dogs to keep moving; not only is it good for their body, it is good for their soul!
While Sheba is a good guard dog who is protective of her human when appropriate, she is also a very friendly and loving dog. She does bark so one must keep that in mind if you have neighbors who won’t appreciate a dog who barks. Sheba can stay alone inside her home when necessary, managing a few hours between potty breaks. She is a good girl!
At 9 we consider Sheba to be a young senior. She has not had a full senior check up with lab work and this is something we recommend once a dog becomes a senior. It is important that Sheba’s new family can do this for her and keep her vetted regularly for the rest of her days. This commitment is important to keep for Sheba’s health. If you know this breed, you know how sensitive and loyal they can be. A rest-of-her-lifelong home with care and love means you will be rewarded with the friendship of a magnificent dog!
