Big Tama fought the good fight against longstanding chronic infections in his lungs and nasal passages, combined with the old Labrador plague: laryngeal paralysis. Thanks to valiant efforts by his foster parents and his regular vet plus specialists, many diagnostics and much medication, he had five months of love and security in a family that really valued him. Some of his anxiety eased, some – perhaps left over from his earlier “career” – remained, but he had such a happy time. Just as we felt that a new medication regimen was helping a lot, a new pneumonia developed very suddenly and he was lost. Such a funny old guy will be remembered with much love. Tama passed away January 22, 2014.
