ODH Home Found for Gerbie – Little Shih Tzu Mix Girl

ODH FOSTER HOME FOUND: Shih tzu (mix?) spayed female, 7# (VERY thin). This dear little girl went to the shelter when her person was taken to the hospital and has not returned for her. She’s blind or nearly so due to untreated “dry eye”, her hearing is probably questionable, her knees are stiff, she had a mild ear infection and yeast infection in her skin, all the usual things that happen to old shih tzu when care is neglected. Beyond that, she has pretty serious kidney disease – perhaps made worse by recent
dehydration/starvation – but something that will definitely need treatment and will shorten her life. Despite all of this, staff say
she’s extremely sweet, cooperative, and very very gentle. She needs to get out of that kennel as quickly as possible, get care for her issues, and be loved and safe again.
