Wally

“Hi! My name is Wally. I am 13 years old, and I weigh 12 pounds. My person says I am a mixed breed of Corgi and Chihuahua. I have been with my people since I was a puppy. I have had a good life with them, but their life has changed. They no longer have the time they used to have for me. They want to give me a chance to find a home where I can be more social and active again.

I am hoping to find a new family with adults who are looking for a mature companion dog. When I say “companion dog,” that doesn’t mean you have to be home all day, all of the time! I am OK to stay alone. Just give me time to settle in, please! I have never lived with another dog before. I would be happiest in a home where I could still be the only animal in the home. However, my person says I might be able to live with another dog if they are non-threatening and friendly (but not overly friendly!). You just have to be someone who knows how to introduce dogs to each other. I have never lived with cats. I can’t say how I’d behave in a home with them. My guess is I’d do better adapting to a dog.

Right now I’m spending a lot of time in a bedroom of my house. I’d like that to change once I find my new home. I can hold it a few hours between potty breaks, and I behave in the house. I’m not in the bedroom because I’ve been naughty! There’s a tiny human in the house now I am being kept away from. I miss the days when I was out and about with my humans.

I do enjoy 20-minute walks each day. Time to explore and smell all the good smells is awesome! I love to run and play. I have had lots of training through my years. Let me show you what a smart boy I am! We can have a lot of fun together. The great thing about a dog my age is that we know when it is time to relax and when it’s time for activity.

Keeping me vetted and giving me good dog food could keep me going for years to come. I am ready to join the home of perhaps a couple or a single adult. It’s a proven fact that dog owners live longer than people who don’t own dogs! Let me help you live a long, fulfilling life!”
