Westley and Luna
A pair of beauties
What is better than one bichon?? How about two bichons?! Meet Westley and Luna, a bonded father and daughter pair ready to make their way to an adoptive home. Westley is 10 years old, he weighs 13 pounds. Luna is 9 years old, and she also weighs 13 pounds. Wesley is said to be a total sweetheart who is gentle and loves to cuddle. Luna is described as being spunky and playful; she brings the energy and keeps things fun. Together, they balance each other perfectly.
When meeting new dogs, each dog comes across as not being social. Both Luna and Westley will bark a lot at the “strange dog”. However, once they meet and get together, the pair is fine. So it seems they could join a home with another dog but they would also be just fine going to a home without a dog. After all, they already have each other! Neither dog is welcoming to a cat, they try to chase. Luna and Westley do not appreciate young children. We would guess they would be happier in a home without kids unless they are dog-savvy teens.
These adorable dogs are hoping for a home where someone is home more often than not. While they can manage a few hours with only each other for company, they are their most joyful when their human is around. While they are housebroken, they should not be expected to “hold it” for long hours. The pair sleeps with their person in the bed and would expect to be able to continue doing so in their new home.
A day that includes at least a couple of walks on the agenda is what Luna and Westley would like. They are good on leash, pulling only when they see a squirrel or a cat. This means you need to be able to manage two dogs at the same time, who could pull. They are not big dogs, but for one’s safety (and theirs), one still must be able to handle their energy. Luna’s favorite thing to do is jog while on a leash. Westley loves to play fetch in the hallway every night when his human comes home from work. At this time, neither Westley nor Luna shows signs of having arthritis, so they can manage stairs.
This delightful, adorable, loyal pair needs a home with someone who can afford regular grooming, good-quality dog food, and a commitment to lifelong veterinary care. Luna and Westley have been cherished family members. The hope is to find a home for them where they are not left alone as long as they are now.
