Baby came to her Old Dog Haven Final Refuge home during the holiday season and loves to celebrate her forever home anniversaries while keeping extra cozy in her favorite Buffalo plaid coats! This sweet girl is about 15 years old and her ODH family tells us she is doing just fabulously, despite some mild aging issues and a picky (or is it just refined?) palate.

Her forever mom tells us that Baby is “attached to me at the hip” and finds extra security within her family’s resident pack. She especially enjoys her meanders in the pasture as she sniffs out the news of the world and seeks out the very fluffiest bed at the end of the day when it’s time to go to sleep. Baby’s constant companionship has helped her ODH mom through aging challenges of her own–getting kids off to college across the country and seeing her husband through medical treatments. Her mom tells us, “I’m not sure who needed who the most, but she’s “my girl” every day!”

Friends, thanks to your loyal support of ODH, senior dogs like Baby get to shine in their forever homes. Our Final Refuge seniors bring such hope and light and cheer to their families–truly special gifts for everyone. Who says old dogs can’t learn new tricks?

Update:  After nearly 4 wonderful years with her Final Refuge family, Baby’s health finally failed her so she had to be sent on with much love.  She will be greatly missed and really showed how much joy an old dog can feel (and bring to their family) when they are loved and cared for.
