9-year-old Bella is an adorable 10-pound Havanese. Bella is described as being “an independent couch potato”.

Bella is in need of a no-child home. Bella is hoping to find a home where she can relax without the worry of a young child who does not understand personal space. The addition of children to her lifelong home has caused her anxiety. At this time, Bella takes medication for her anxiety. The hope would be that once she has moved to a home without children, she could be weaned off this medication, as the source of her anxiety will be gone.

Bella has lived with other dogs, but she is not interested in them. When she has been taken to the dog park, she is more interested in the humans. Perhaps she could live with another dog her size, who is a mellow, senior dog. She does not appreciate dogs that try to jump on her or try to play with her. Bella has never lived with a cat. We are told she has ignored cats when she has seen them.

We are told Bella does well while on leash. She is not used to daily walks and does not expect them, but she does enjoy a short walk from time to time. This is a young senior! Bella can manage stairs without issue and hold her potty for quite a few hours. She is crate trained but she should not be left in a crate for long hours- no dog should have to be!  During the day Bella can stay home alone, hanging out on the couch. Bella has had the same home all of her life; she should be given time to settle into her new home. Bella is described as a dog who goes with the flow, so we would like to believe she will adapt well to change.

Bella’s adopter should be able and willing to afford regular veterinary care, good quality dog food, and grooming. It’s important to keep in mind that Bella may live for many years. Keepingup on her care could mean time for a long-lasting relationship with a sweet dog who will be a terrific companion.

Bella is located in Tumwater, WA. For contact information please email: referrals@olddoghaven.org

This is not an Old Dog Haven dog. Old Dog Haven has not assessed this dog for medical issues and will not be responsible for medical care after adoption. We urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
