What must it be like to be old and blind and deaf, and be left at a shelter when no one wanted you. How does a little dog recover from that? Sometimes they can’t.

Sweet little Chai was with us for such a short time, only a week. She was frightened and anxious and spent much of her time walking in circles. But in between the tough days she had times of understanding someone cared and a time or two of being able to relax enough to snuggle.

During one of those times she blessed us with a kiss. And when it was time to leave she had someone with her who loved her and cried for her–although it made us happy to know she could see again and hear again and run across the grass.

You will always have a place in our hearts, little Chai.
