Charlie Joe was surrendered at the shelter because of an unfortunate living situation. He was thought to be a Morkie (Maltese / Yorkie mix), and around 12 years old and when he arrived at his foster home he had a horrendous, smelly mouth and there were concerns about the condition of his heart.  As an Old Dog Haven Final Refuge dog, he will now be given excellent vet care and has been referred to a cardiologist to determine if his heart is stable enough to receive a dental.

Little Charlie has adjusted well to his new home and gets along well with his three foster siblings. He has made it clear that he expects the finer things in life. No dog beds on the floor for this little guy.  Most days you will find him lounging on a human bed or sleeping the day away on the comfortable sofa.  It even took a little while before he decided to eat actual dog food!

Charlie Joe is a very talkative boy who loves to bark at every animal and person that comes his way. He is a very smart little dog so I have hope that he can learn to keep his opinions to himself, at least some of the time. Overall, he’s a happy friendly little dog and I feel fortunate to be his foster mom.
