Gabby – Terrier Mix (fka Classie)

Sweet little Gabby is a Terrier Mix and has recently moved into her retirement home!   Her history tells us that she was originally adopted from a shelter only to return to a different one two years later because her elderly owner was moving in with family due to health conditions.  She was overwhelmed, to say the least, and her shyness made her life at the shelter even more frightening.

Gabby has a slight limp due to a luxating patella on her left rear leg.  She had been receiving anti-itch medication for her skin which may have caused issues with her liver. X-rays showed both her heart, and her liver showed to be enlarged.  She has severe dental disease, and she also has a grade 4 heart murmur.

So, what now for this sweet little girl?  Well, first she was put on a diet.  She was over 13 lbs upon arrival at the shelter and she is slowly working her way down to between 10 and 11 lbs.    Gabby is on heart meds after her visit to the cardiologist and had treatment for itching.

Gabby is settling in well with her two foster siblings and she is discovering that there is some great squirrel watching to be had from her new home.  She has her own comfy private space if she needs some alone time, and we look forward to her learning all about her new family and enjoying all her new life has to offer!  She is a lovely girl and lights up the room with her beautiful frosty face and stub tail!
