From her Final Refuge Family:

Coco came to us after being abandoned. She was 12 years old and emaciated, with a full body flea-allergy caused skin infection, a severe ear infection, and she was missing about 60% of her hair. She was also apparently deaf and lacking in social skills. But she was still a cutie.

With Old Dog Haven’s support for much-needed vet care, she has now regrown most of her hair, she hears a little bit, and her social skills have improved. The skin issue appears to be in check, with occasional flare-ups; the vet says that this may be ongoing.

As Coco’s health and social skills improve, so does her personality and her relationships with the other dogs in our pack.  Medications help with the itching and skin issues and daily supplements help with eye issues.

Thanks to ODH, Coco is having a more “normal” dog life.  She quickly captures the hearts of new acquaintances and has melded into the doggie social circle to which we belong. Her smile, with the right-side curled lip, melts hearts. She is a peaceful dog who follows the lead of our other dog–her big brother if you will–and now barks when appropriate in addition to being a snuggle bunny.

We are grateful for this opportunity to be part of her life and to provide a forever home during her golden years. I don’t see how this turnaround would have happened without ODH.  Thank you ODH for this opportunity to be of service to Coco and the blessings she brings to our lives!

Update:  Dear Coco had such a wonderful, long time with her loving Final Refuge family.  Suddenly, she had a stroke and could not recover.  She was an integral part of her family and will be truly missed.
