Almost 10 year old Courage is an adorable, teddy-bear like Havanese mix who weighs about 12 pounds. Courage is a bit of a “diamond in the rough” who needs an adopter who can afford to give him the vet care he is in need of. Courage suffers from dry eye, chronic ear and skin infections. It sounds as though all of this can be managed with veterinary care and diliigence by his adopter. Courage will require regular grooming as well as daily eye drops, regular medicated bathing and  care for his ears. We can tell you taking in a dog like Courage and shining them up can be incredibly rewarding!

In his current home Courage is fine with staying alone for a work day. He can manage quite while before he needs a potty break. Courage has never lived with dogs or cats but we’re told he is fine when meeting other friendly dogs. He has lived with a child and would be OK to live in a home with kids who will be kind and respectful of him.

Courage doesn’t require a lot of exercise but surely he’d appreciate a walk or getting out with his people. He  is said to be good on leash and he can manage stairs. Courage sounds like a very nice dog! He is not an excessive barker. We are told he spends his day inside on his pillows or his kennel (by his choosing). He’s a loving dog who appreciates tummy rubs. Courage is in need of a new home soon and it must be with someone who can and will afford his care. This is a young senior dog who could be around for quite a few more years. At least, we’d like to believe so and it’d be wonderful for him to find a terrific new home for him!

Courage is posted for his owner in Tacoma, WA. For contact information please email: referrals@olddoghaven.org

This is not an ODH dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
