Jasmine
Loving every day at her new home
Jasmine was found as a stray and spent three months in a shelter patiently waiting for a forever home. It was obvious she had been suffering from long-term neglect. She was covered in matted fur and had a painful, itchy skin infection. Jasmine was very thin for a dog her size, her ears were crumpled from chronic ear infections and she had multiple mammary tumors that would need to be removed.
Old Dog Haven was able to find a permanent foster home for Jasmine and within a week she was seen by a veterinarian and a treatment plan was put in place. She was given a full exam, and received antibiotics and other medication to treat her multiple infections. She will soon be scheduled to have a spay surgery and will have her mammary tumors removed.
Here is what Jasmine’s foster mom tells us about her amazing progress.
“After 3 weeks Jasmine began to let her personality show. She loves to play ball and seems to enjoy taking them from her new brother, Finnigan. Her new sister, Elsa, has taken on the role of her mother and keeps close to her side, often smothering Jasmine with kisses. Jasmine is very sweet and when I can’t find her I just have to look behind me and she will be lying right there. Jasmine loves to go for walks and is a very playful girl. It has barely been a month since she came to live with us, but it already feels like she has always been here.”
Jasmine’s foster family is very grateful to Old Dog Haven for giving senior dogs like Jasmine a second chance to be happy and comfortable in their forever homes.
Update: Sweet Jasmine have over 2 years in her wonderful, loving home before her health issues let us know she needed to leave. She had settled into her home quickly and was a much treasured member of the family. We are grateful she had such a long time to enjoy her retirement and she will always be remembered. Our girl who was always close by and loved her walks.
