June
Wonderful companion pup
“Hi there! My name is June. You are seeing me here because I need a new home. I am really hoping to find a home where I can finally stay forever. I am about 9 years old and I weigh 12 pounds. I am a chihuahua.
“I was adopted from a shelter by an elderly man when I was very young. I was then “inherited” by his daughter. She has loved me very much but she is now in a wheelchair and she needs other humans to help take care of her. She can no longer care for me.
“I am ready to move on to a home where I could have the opportunity to be a bit more active. I am not ancient by any means and I am good on leash! Living with folks who can’t go for regular walks means I’ve learned to use potty pads in the house. Perhaps my new person could teach me to go potty outside?
“While I have lived with other dogs I am timid around them. If you have a dog already, I may be just fine living with a dog my size, one that is friendly but not overly so. I have lived with cats and don’t really give a fig about them! Kids are fine as long as they are old enough to know better than to be rough with me or pick me up.
“As most dogs will, I bark when someone is at the door or when I think someone is at the door. I have lived most of my life with someone at home most of the time but I can stay alone if needed. Just be sure to put those potty pads down! I would appreciate time to settle in and learn the new routine.
“I am a great companion dog! That has been my life purpose. I am cuddly and like to sleep in the bed with my person. I am a loving girl who will stay by your side. I make people smile with my “bat ears” and curly tail that spins in circles when I’m excited.
“I just went to the vet because I had a bad UTI. I have been taking an antibiotic and I feel so much better! The vet noticed my teeth need some care. We dogs need dental care just as you humans do. I hope my new family can afford to get my teeth taken care of and provide me with regular vet care and good dog food. If you can do that for me and keep me forever, I will be so happy and I’ll do my best to make you happy with me too!”
