Kratos
Handsome and devoted
“My name is Kratos. I am an 8-year-old pit bull who weighs 75 pounds. As you can see, I am all white. I am deaf. I was born this way, so I don’t know anything else. My eyesight is good; in fact, it’s quite sharp. You know that sometimes when one’s sense is gone, the other senses kick in? I am in need of an adoptive home soon! I really don’t want to go to a shelter, but that’s where my mom says I will have to go if I cannot find an adoptive home.
I am great with dogs, cats, and kids. I don’t roughhouse with other dogs; I much prefer to play fetch and play with my toys. People pleasing is my favorite thing to do; I love to see my human smile. I am a very good boy. I am a terrific cuddler; I love to lay my head in my human’s lap.
My human had to move from our home that had a yard. I was anxious at the apartment, so I would bark when she left. Luckily, my “auntie” has a yard, so I’ve been able to stay in her backyard, but that’s not a real home, not how I want to live my life. As much as my human loves me, she knows I need a better situation. Sometimes things happen in our humans’ lives, and we dogs have to adapt. It can be hard. My human took me to the vet and got a pill for me that has helped. When I find my new home, I should continue to receive that. Maybe you can understand how I’d be nervous about all of the big changes I’ve been through lately?
While I am a young senior, I do have arthritis. My human gives me a pill to help with inflammation that the vet said I should take. It helps! I can manage stairs; I can run and play without a problem.
I can pull when I am on leash; my person can redirect me to stop pulling. There are harnesses that can help with that, but it would be smart to find someone who can manage my size and strength during walks. I love exploring, and if you have a fenced yard, that’s great because I can get out even more and smell all there is to smell in the yard!
During the day when we had a house, I could stay inside and wait for a potty break for a while. Maybe my new home will have a dog door I can use to get out in the yard when the humans are gone? At night, I sleep in my crate with the door open.
My human has been trying to find a new home for me for a while now. Time is running short for me to move, so if you are reading this, you could help! If you can’t adopt me, will you tell all of your friends and family about me? You never know who is looking for a handsome, devoted companion. Not only could you change my life for the better, but you could help make someone’s life better by helping them find a forever friend- ME!”
